Dr Paul Silberstein
Consultant Neurologist

As a specialist Movement Disorders Neurologist, Dr Silberstein’s practice focusses exclusively on the diagnosis and management of Parkinson’s disease and conditions that affect human movement including tremor disorders, dystonia, tics, and myoclonus. He brings comprehensive experience in medical and surgical treatments for movement disorders including device-assisted therapies and is recognised both nationally and internationally for his expertise in Deep Brain Stimulation.
Dr Silberstein is a Senior Staff Specialist Neurologist at Royal North Shore Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer at North Shore Private Hospital.
Dr Silberstein is the clinical lead to the Movement Disorder meeting at RNSH where challenging diagnostic and management problems are presented and discussed in a multi-disciplinary forum.
Dr Silberstein maintains an active clinical research profile. He presents regularly at clinical conferences and patient support groups, and has published extensively in international neurology journals, including Brain and Nature Neuroscience.
Dr Silberstein is a founder and regular contributor to the educational websites, Sydney DBS & emPowereD.
Sydney DBS provides information regarding Deep Brain Stimulation treatment.
emPowereD is a website designed for people living with Parkinson’s Disease. It presents information about the condition in a unique natural history format, helping users explore what’s most relevant to their current stage and experience of PD. By following the natural progression of the condition, emPowereD makes it easier to access practical, timely, and meaningful guidance—empowering individuals with clearer insights and more personalised support.
Dr Christina Liang
Consultant Neurologist
MBBS BSc (Med) FRACP PHD
Christina trained through Westmead and Royal North Shore Hospitals. She was granted a NHMRC (National Health and Medical Research Council) postgraduate scholarship which supported her doctoral studies in the management of adult patients with mitochondrial diseases.
With subspecialty interests in Neuromuscular and Neurogenetics disorders, and the management of early to advanced Parkinson’s disease, her expertise in these areas extends to the use of device-assisted therapies.

As well as consulting at Integrated Neurology, Christina cares for both adolescents and adults as the supervising clinician at the Neuromuscular Clinic and multidisciplinary transition clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital, and as staff specialist at the NeuRA (Neuroscience Research Australia) Clinics. Christina additionally holds a clinical senior lecturer role with the University of Sydney, and a conjoint research fellow with the Neurodegenerative Service at NeuRA.
She is experienced in the conduct of clinical trials, having been the principal investigator in a number of local investigator-led, national, international, industry and MRFF (Medical Research Future Fund) grant-sponsored clinical trials and research studies in inclusion body myositis, mitochondrial myopathy, hereditary ataxias, inflammatory myopathies, and spinal muscular atrophy. She brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice and is enthusiastic about being part of the teams that bring new and helpful therapies to people living with degenerative and rare diseases that currently have no disease modifying therapy.
Dr Jason Gu
Consultant Neurologist

Having previously been a staff specialist at the Wollongong Hospital, where he ran movement disorder and TIA clinics, he now works as a Visiting Medical Officer at North Shore Private and the Northern Beaches Hospital.
Dr Gu consults on patients with stroke, headache and movement disorders and has an additional skill set in performing nerve conduction testing. He also prescribes and administers injectable therapies for a range of neurological conditions including headache, sweating, blepharospasm and torticollis.
When Dr Gu is not consulting on a wide range of patients in both Mandarin and English, he enjoys spending his spare time reading, playing tennis and fishing.
Dr Michal Lubomski
Consultant Neurologist

Dr Lubomski is Staff Specialist Neurologist at Royal North Shore Hospital and Visiting Medical Officer at Prince of Wales Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital. Dr Lubomski completed his Medical Degree at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney and undertook his Neurology training at St Vincent’s Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Subsequently he completed his Fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Dr Lubomski went on to specialise further in his field when he completed PhD investigating gastrointestinal dysfunction and the gut microbiome in Parkinson’s disease.
Dr Lubomski is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists and the Movement Disorder Society of Australia and New Zealand.
He has undertaken subspecialty training in Movement Disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation, Neurogenetics, Neuromuscular diseases as well as Neurophysiology with medical injectables.
Dr Natalie Palavra
Consultant Neurologist

Dr Natalie Palavra is a Consultant Neurologist and Visiting Medical Officer at both North Shore Private Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital. Dr Palavra has specialised expertise in movement disorders and neurogenetics, with a passion for advancing neurological care through both clinical practice and research.

Dr Palavra graduated with distinction from the University of New South Wales in 2013. She completed clinical and research electives at two prestigious and renowned international centres: the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery at Queen Square, London, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
Dr Palavra is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists. She completed physician training followed by speciality training in Neurology at Royal North Shore Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital. In addition to general Neurology, she was the recipient of the Nick Blair Fellowship in 2021 and subsequently completed a fellowship in Movement Disorders and Neurogenetics, solidifying her sub-specialty interests particularly in Parkinson’s Disease and Deep Brain Stimulation.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr Palavra is actively involved in research as an affiliate for the University of Sydney. She has published several peer-reviewed scientific papers and maintains a special focus on Parkinson’s disease research. Committed to patient education, she regularly contributes to social media and the educational website Sydney DBS, making complex neurological information accessible to patients and the public.
Dr Palavra also has a keen interest in headache and migraine treatment, holding membership in the Australia and New Zealand Headache Society and serving on the Migraine Education Committee. Her dedication to education extends to mentoring medical students and physician trainees. She is also president of the Royal North Shore Hospital Medical and Surgical Women’s Society, and in 2018 was awarded the Dr Ann Formaz-Preston Scholarship for her contribution to Royal North Shore Hospital.
Dr Joseph Nogajski
Consultant Neurophysiologist

Dr Joseph Nogajski is a Visiting Medical Officer in Neurology at Royal North Shore Hospital. He completed his neurology training at St George Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital (2002/03) before undertaking a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at Prince of Wales Hospital (2004).

With over twenty years of experience in neurophysiology, Dr Nogajski specializes in performing detailed nerve conduction studies and EMG testing. His expertise extends to single fibre EMG studies, representing an advanced level of electromyographic testing. For more than ten years, he has served as a Neurophysiology Supervisor for Advanced Training in Neurology, mentoring the next generation of neurologists.

Dr Hoang-Mai Dinh
Consultant Neurologist

Dr. Hoang-Mai Dinh is a Consultant Neurologist with a focus on Movement Disorders and Headache Management. Her neurology training was completed at St Vincent’s Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, both renowned for their expertise in headache management and complex neurological conditions.

She then completed a fellowship in Movement Disorders and has considerable expertise in the management of conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, and tremors. Dr. Dinh is highly skilled in device assisted therapies, deep brain stimulation (DBS) and injectable treatments, ensuring that her patients receive the highest standard of care.
In addition to her area of Movement Disorders, Dr. Dinh is proficient in migraine management, providing her patients with effective, long-term relief through the latest treatments. She offers injectable therapies for a variety of conditions, including migraine, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, sialorrhoea, bruxism, and axillary hyperhidrosis.
Before training as a doctor and specialising as a Neurologist, Dr Dinh began her career as a pharmacist, providing strong grounding in pharmacologic therapies. She also manages a variety of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, dizziness, and stroke

MICHELE

Michele has been a valued member of Integrated Neurology for over eight years, bringing compassion, experience, and a patient-centred approach to care. Known for her warm demeanour and dedication, Michele plays a key role in supporting patients through every step of their neurological journey. Michele also ensures smooth office operations while assisting patients and medical professionals alike.
Outside of work, Michele is a proud mum to three young adults. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, baking, and exploring new places through travel.
ADELINE
MEDICAL SECRETARY
Adeline serves as a dedicated medical secretary at Integrated Neurology, bringing professionalism and a warm, welcoming presence to the team. She is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology, with her thesis focusing on gender differences in prosocial attitudes and antisocial behaviour among sports players. Adeline’s academic background and interest in human behaviour complement her role in supporting both patients and practitioners.
In her personal time, she enjoys practising Pilates, spending time at the beach, and travelling.

ALEKSANDRA
RECEPTIONIST
Aleksandra is one of the reception staff at Integrated Neurology, where she provides administrative support to doctors and patients in their busy practice. Currently in her penultimate year of a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Technology Sydney, Aleksandra aspires to pursue a career in diagnostic pathology.
In addition to her studies, she plays violin in her local orchestra, enjoys practicing Pilates, and loves spending time outdoors. With a strong attention to detail and passion for healthcare, she is dedicated to delivering excellent service.
EMILIA
MEDICAL SECRETARY
Emilia is a medical secretary at Integrated Neurology, where she supports both patients and practitioners with professionalism and a commitment to patient care. She is currently completing a degree in Medical Science and Marketing at the University of Sydney and recently studied abroad in the United States, where she conducted research into emerging medical therapies, inspiring her to pursue a career in medical devices.
Outside of work, Emilia enjoys playing tennis, practising Pilates, and travelling to explore new cultures.
Nyssa
Clinical Research Fellow
Nyssa is a Neurological Physiotherapist who also works as a clinical research fellow with Integrated Neurology. She graduated her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with distinction and Dean’s commendation in 2015, as well as being the first recipient of the David and Carolyn Love Inaugural Award, created by Australian Catholic University for her excellence in communication and empathy. Nyssa been working as a physiotherapist in the acute hospital setting for the past decade, clinically specialising in the area of Neurology and Neurosurgery for over 7 years.

Not only does she work closely with the consultants in the multi-disciplinary team at North Shore Private Hospital, she also recently co-authored and published a paper with Dr. Paul Silberstein and Dr. Raymond Cook in the BMJ Neurology open on minimising the rate of vascular complications in patients with Parkinson’s disease undergoing DBS surgery.
In addition to her research work, she recently co-authored and launched a new Parkinson’s Disease education resource emPowereD, and publishes frequent blog updates on a wide range of topics relating to Parkinson’s Disease.
She is enthusiastic about both her clinical work with patients and her research projects with the team, driven by her passion to help people improve their independence and quality of life. She has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Writing and Literature at Deakin University and is currently studying a Master of Neuroscience at the University of New England.
